Creating Hope for Families and Pets in Crisis: The Alliance's Commitment to Keeping Loved Ones Together

Keeping Pets Where They Belong: With Their Families

At The Alliance, our mission is simple but powerful: remove barriers that force families to give up the pets they love. Every day, we hear stories that break our hearts—and motivate our work. Families facing emergencies, housing instability, or crisis situations are too often told there are only impossible choices. We exist to create another option: help.

Why We Exist

Too many pets are surrendered or euthanized not because they aren’t loved—but because support isn’t accessible. An unexpected emergency surgery. A sudden move with unaffordable pet deposits. A survivor of domestic violence who has nowhere safe for their pet to stay. A dog struggling with behavior challenges that a family doesn’t have the resources to address. These are not failures of love; they are failures of systems.

Our programs are designed to step in at these critical moments and keep families together.

What We’re Building (With Your Help)

Our fundraising goals focus on expanding community-based resources that address the most urgent needs:

  • Life-Saving Emergency Medical Fund A dedicated fund to help families afford emergency surgeries and critical veterinary care—so financial hardship never has to end in euthanasia.

  • Safe Boarding for Domestic Violence Survivors Temporary, confidential boarding for pets while families escape unsafe situations and secure stable housing—because safety should never require leaving a pet behind.

  • Pet Deposit & Housing Assistance One of the most common reasons we hear for surrender is: “I’m moving and can’t afford the pet deposit.” We help cover these costs to keep pets with the people who love them.

  • Training Scholarships for Behaviorally Challenging Pets Many pets are at risk simply because they need guidance, structure, or professional support. We are building training scholarships that connect families with qualified, humane trainers—helping address reactivity, anxiety, and other behavioral challenges before they lead to surrender.

  • Community Support & Resource Navigation Hands-on assistance to help families find solutions before a temporary crisis becomes a permanent loss.

Our Promise

We believe pets are family. And when families fall on hard times, they deserve compassion, not judgment. Every dollar raised goes toward keeping pets safe, supported, and at home—right where they belong.

This is just the beginning. With your support, we can create a future where emergency vet bills, housing barriers, or behavior challenges never decide a pet’s fate. Together, we keep families whole
